When Did Customer Service Stop Caring?

anonymous - 1 hour ago

I've noticed something that's been bothering me lately.

It feels like companies spend millions trying to get new customers, but almost nothing keeping the ones they already have happy.

You call customer service and end up talking to a chatbot.
You send an email and get an automated response.
You finally reach a person who reads from a script and can't actually solve your problem.

The strange part is that we keep accepting it.

I don't expect perfection, but I do expect someone to care enough to listen and try.

Maybe I'm getting older, but I remember when businesses actually wanted your business. Now it sometimes feels like you're inconveniencing them by asking for help.

So here's my question...

Has customer service really gotten worse, or are our expectations just higher than they used to be?

I'd love to hear your best—and worst—customer service stories.
